Position Title: Substitute Paraprofessional Location: Danbury Local Schools / Lakeside Marblehead, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $14.00/Hour About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable and compassionate Substitute Paraprofessionals to support students and teachers when regular staff members are absent. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment. Substitute paraprofessionals assist with classroom instruction, provide individualized support, and help ensure continuity of services across both general education and special education settings. Key Responsibilities Support classroom teachers with instruction, classroom activities, and supervision Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, including those with special needs Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or intervention specialist Assist students with daily routines such as organization, transitions, and engagement in lessons Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival or dismissal times Promote a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment Follow established lesson plans, behavior plans, and safety procedures Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and school administrators Document student observations, progress, or incidents as required Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent required Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations) Clean criminal background check Ability to work with children in a patient, professional, and supportive manner Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow directions and adapt to different classroom environments and student needs Physical ability to assist students as needed (e.g., mobility support, classroom tasks) Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children, especially in educational or childcare environments Previous experience supporting students with disabilities Training in behavior management or de-escalation strategies What We Offer Flexible scheduling options Opportunities to gain experience in education and student support Pathways to other school-based roles Potential for long-term substitute assignments Options for limited medical benefits Enrollment in the School Employees Retirement System (SERS)
