Position Title: Substitute Educational Aide Location: Lake Local Schools / Millbury, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $13.00/Hour About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable, caring, and flexible Substitute Educational Aides to support classrooms when regular staff members are unavailable. This role is important in maintaining a supportive and structured learning environment while assisting students and teachers across general and special education settings. Key Responsibilities Assist teachers with instructional support, classroom activities, and student supervision Provide individualized or small-group support, including assistance for students with special needs Carry out accommodations and modifications as directed by certified staff or intervention specialists Support students with daily routines such as organization, transitions, and participation in learning activities Supervise students across school environments including classrooms, cafeterias, hallways, playgrounds, and dismissal areas Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment Follow lesson plans, behavior strategies, and safety procedures as provided Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff Record observations and report student concerns or incidents when required Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent required Valid Ohio educational aide permit or higher teaching license (per state requirements) Successful completion of all required background checks Ability to interact with students in a patient, professional, and supportive manner Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to follow directions and adapt to different classroom environments Physical ability to assist students when necessary (including mobility or classroom support tasks) Compliance with the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with children in schools, childcare, or similar settings Experience supporting students with special needs Training in behavior support, classroom management, or de-escalation techniques What We Offer Flexible, as-needed scheduling options Opportunities to gain hands-on experience in education Potential for long-term substitute placements Pathways to additional school-based roles Access to optional medical benefit programs Enrollment in the School Employees Retirement System (SERS)
