Position Title: Substitute Teacher Location: Nordonia Hills City Schools / Northfield, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $115/Day Pay rate increases available for long-term substitute assignments based on consecutive days worked About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking adaptable, dependable, and motivated Substitute Teachers to support classrooms during teacher absences. This position helps ensure learning continues smoothly by delivering prepared instruction, supporting students academically, and maintaining a structured and positive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out daily lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular teacher Maintain classroom order and promote a respectful, focused learning environment Provide instruction and academic support across assigned subjects and grade levels Adjust instruction and approach based on classroom needs Track attendance and complete required reporting tasks Coordinate with school staff and administration as needed Supervise students during transitions, lunch periods, recess, and other assigned times Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent required Valid Ohio substitute teaching license or approved teaching certification Successful completion of required background screening Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different classroom settings Professional demeanor with a student-centered approach Compliance with the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or childcare Familiarity with classroom management strategies Experience working with diverse student populations What We Offer Flexible, as-needed scheduling Opportunities to gain classroom experience in education Access to long-term substitute assignments Potential pathways to full-time teaching roles Eligibility for optional medical benefit programs Participation in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS)
