Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) powers Microsoft’s global cloud services, including Azure, Office 365, Xbox, and OneDrive. In this role, you will lead teams responsible for delivering and maintaining the core infrastructure that supports these services.

Responsibilities

People Management

Lead through empowerment and accountability by modelling, coaching, and supporting your team
Define clear objectives and enable collaboration across teams
Develop talent, support career growth, and build a high-performing team

Operations

Act as a technical lead in areas such as electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or controls
Oversee equipment inspections and ensure safe, reliable operations
Monitor systems using telemetry tools and respond to alerts
Manage work through CMMS, tracking assets and maintenance activities
Lead incident response, ensuring rapid resolution and coordination
Support and apply SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs
Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement

Maintenance

Oversee and perform planned, predictive, and corrective maintenance
Act as a subject matter expert in a technical discipline
Troubleshoot systems and guide team members on complex issues
Manage vendor activities and ensure safe execution of work
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
Support knowledge sharing and team capability development

Critical Environment Culture

Promote and enforce safety, security, and compliance standards
Ensure safe working conditions and escalate risks immediately
Support EH&S initiatives and operational readiness
Participate in training, meetings, and shift handovers

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 3+ years’ experience in mission-critical environments (e.g. datacentres, energy, manufacturing, healthcare, or similar)
Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
OR equivalent experience

Security

Must meet Microsoft Cloud background check requirements (on hire and every two years)

Preferred

5–6+ years’ experience in mission-critical environments
Technical qualification (e.g. trade certification or degree)
1+ year people management experience
Experience in a technical discipline (mechanical, electrical, or controls)

This role will remain open for a minimum of 5 days and until filled.
