The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 18 to 36 months. This role involves planning and implementing engaging curriculum, supporting children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development, and providing leadership within the classroom. The Lead Teacher also supervises assistant staff and ensures compliance with all licensing regulations. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and daily activities * Establish a structured yet flexible classroom schedule * Create a safe, clean, and organized learning environment * Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff * Observe, assess, and document children’s development and progress * Foster positive social and emotional development in toddlers * Maintain open, professional communication with families * Ensure compliance with all state licensing and health regulations * Manage classroom supplies and maintain proper records * Respond appropriately to children’s individual needs, including behavior guidance * Meets all state licensing requirements for a Lead Teacher * Previous experience working with toddlers required * Strong understanding of early childhood development Education Requirements: * Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, OR * Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, OR * Minimum required college credits in Early Childhood Education (per state guidelines) Skills & Competencies: * Strong leadership and classroom management skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Patient, nurturing, and dependable * Organized and detail-oriented * Ability to work collaboratively with a team * CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Work Environment: * Active classroom setting requiring standing, bending, and lifting * Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in floor-level activities * Fast-paced, team-oriented childcare environment
