Daycare Center Now Hiring: Infant Teaching Assistant Location: 2425 7th Ave, Watervliet, NY Position Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 5:30 PM Pay: $17 per hour About Us Watervliet Civic Chest Inc. Daycare Center is a center-based program dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. Our infant room serves children ages 6 weeks to 18 months, focusing on responsive care, structured routines, and early developmental support that includes honing gross- and fine-motor and sensory skills. Position Overview We are currently seeking a reliable and compassionate Infant Teaching Assistant to support our infant classroom. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure the daily care, safety, and developmental needs of infants are consistently met, and will develop a complementary and caring relationship with families to meet their needs. Key Responsibilities • Assist with daily infant care routines including feeding, diapering, and napping • Support the implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and motor development • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in accordance with licensing regulations • Observe and report children’s behaviors and needs to the Lead Teacher • Help create a warm, responsive, and engaging atmosphere for infants • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required • Previous experience working with infants or in a childcare setting preferred • CPR and First Aid Certification required • Prioritizes children’s safety and well-being Ability to lift, carry, and care for infants throughout the day • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Patient, dependable, and nurturing demeanor • Attentive, caring and passionate about early childhood development What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is attentive, caring, passionate and knowledgeable about early childhood development.
