Join Kin, a fast-growing company focused on transforming the home insurance industry. As a Data Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of data engineers and own Kin's data platform. You will define and execute a data engineering strategy, build and optimize scalable data pipelines, and partner closely with cross-functional teams. Your success will be measured by the reliability and scalability of the data platform, the efficiency of the data engineering team, and the impact on the business.
About the role
- Experience implementing engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring - Strong background in large-scale data architecture and data modeling - Hands-on expertise with modern data platforms such as Snowflake and/or Databricks - Familiarity with streaming data technologies such as Kafka or Flink - Experience leading and managing a data engineering team, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment - Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using tools like DBT, Airflow, DMS, or Airbyte - Proficiency in Python for data engineering use cases - Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform - Exposure to AI/ML workflows or predictive analyticsKey missions
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers, driving execution, performance, and career development.
- Own Kin’s data platform, including ingestion, storage, transformation, pipeline orchestration, and governance.
- Define and execute on a Data Engineering strategy that supports analytics, data science, and product use cases.
