Maintenance Mechanic PERMANENT 3 shift rotation** - up to $40/hr + benefits ** Every two weeks (Day / Aft / Night 7 to 3 / 3 to 11 / 11 to 7) LOCATION: Mississauga, Ontario Qualifications: • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR Licensed Millwright OR unlicensed with equivalent hands-on experience • 5 years+ experience in a similar role in manufacturing environment; food packaging or other GMP / HACCP environment experience an asset • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience using wrenches, hammers, drills, other tools • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues • Hands-on, self-motivated individual • Record of successfully managing & executing multiple projects while meeting quality, timeline and budgetary objectives • Ability to be a team player and interact with Operators, Management team members • Computer literate (MS Office, CMMS) Duties: • Maintain and repair production equipment and machinery and some building maintenance (drain blockage removal, water supply, etc.) • Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution of production machines (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls, electrical if possible) • Work with a continuous improvement mindset to reduce cost, breakdowns, and wastage • Provide expertise and knowledge when required to Operators, Lead Hands, Supervisors, Managers • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform PMs • Complete daily / weekly / monthly safety checks, PMs, and performing routine plant monitoring in accordance with maintenance schedules while recording actions • Maintain adherence to GMP/AIB, Health and Safety standards and company regulations • Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime • Perform inspections and lock-out procedures as required • Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts • Perform preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts • Use mechanical technical skills to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints • Monitor work of contractors as required • Participate in the health and safety, food safety and environmental programs • Assist with ongoing management of inventory levels for replacement parts • Update written and electronic records as required
