Litigation Secretary to support their appellate practice in Los Angeles office. This role is ideal for an experienced secretary who thrives in a high-performance environment and is comfortable managing complex appellate filings across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, edit, format, cite check, and proofread legal briefs, motions, and appendices in compliance with federal and state appellate rules (including Bluebook and California Style Manual).
Coordinate the filing and service of documents with courts and agencies; liaise directly with clerk’s offices.
Organize and manage case files, build document databases, and maintain litigation calendars.
Support multiple case teams simultaneously; serve as a key liaison between attorneys, internal teams, and external vendors.
Assist with court filings via PACER, CM/ECF, and other electronic platforms.
Track and enter billable time, meet billable hour targets, and support overall litigation workflow.
Work overtime and travel as needed.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of litigation secretary experience is required.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal research tools (LexisNexis/Westlaw), and document management systems.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
