Business Development Specialist M&A and Regional Expansion
Lead development of strategic hubs to support to support company vision of efficient and connected logistics across underserved regions, including Armenia, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. Initiate, drive and manage mergers and acquisitions (M&A)initiatives and international expansion, beginning with Armenia and expanding into Georgia and other regional former Soviet bloc countries. Oversee cross-border business development efforts, collaborating with legal and regional stakeholders to ensure successful branch launches and acquisition integrations. Identify, evaluate, and recommend M&A targets aligned with company's regional growth strategy. Lead due diligence processes, including legal, operational, and commercial assessments. Structure and negotiate deal terms in collaboration with internal and outside legal, financial, and executive teams. Develop integration plans to align acquired entities with company's operational standards and values. Develop and execute market entry strategies for Armenia, Georgia and other targeted countries in that region. Support local incorporation, licensing, and compliance efforts from the U.S. headquarters. Collaborate with and direct the efforts of local advisors and consultants to navigate legal and operational hurdles. Engage with government agencies, port authorities, and trade associations to facilitate smooth expansion. Monitor and interpret relevant legislation affecting logistics, customs, and maritime trade across the targeted region. Ensure operations remain in compliance with transportation and trade regulations. Act as an internal company resource for cross-border legal and compliance matters. Build strategic partnerships and foster relationships with key stakeholders in each market. Assess and align local foreign market business practices with Freight Right’s culture and standards. Travel internationally as needed to lead on-the-ground due diligence, relationship management, and operational support.
At least 60 months’ prior experience as Attorney or related, or Business Acquisitions Specialist or related, or Business Development Specialist or related, with at least 36 months experience in at least one foreign jurisdiction where business development will take place. Foreign equivalent degrees accepted.
Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business, or related. If qualification is based on a law degree, degree must be from a law school in at least one of the foreign jurisdictions in which business development will occur.
