The Role
Mach Energetics Technical Services Division is seeking a Technical Editor / STINFO Office Lead to support the development, review, publication, tracking, and distribution of technical documents used internally by government and contractor teams and, when approved, publicly released.
This role will support Scientific and Technical Information Office activities, including technical report review, document editing, publication coordination, workflow tracking, records maintenance, and support for final report submission requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in editing technical content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, conciseness, formatting, terminology, and completeness.
Key Responsibilities
Review, edit, and proofread package information and verify and validate supporting and supplementary documentation.
Perform real-time updates of spreadsheets covering the process status of technical reports (interim, special, and final).
Distribute technical reports that may include preparation of transmittal forms, labels, and packaging for distribution, delivery, or electronic formats.
Ensure, to the best of their ability, that all 2-year reporting requirements are met by in-house work units.
Coordinate with the STINFO Officer to ensure that final reports are received according to approved timelines, thirty (30) days after contract end date. Those that are not received will be elevated to the for Division attention.
Ensure that all final reports are submitted to DTIC within one hundred and eighty (180) days of contract closeout.
Receive notification from DPARs; process and track on government database(s) and spreadsheets, and route to the appropriate appointed government official for approval.
Copy tracking information into DPARs, transfer government recommendation(s) and date to internal tracking mechanism.
Oversee the STINFO Share Point site to include electronic guidelines for Scientists and Engineers (S&E) on workflows and processes, document preparation, distribution statement requirements, new instructions/policies, frequently asked questions, and forms.
Required Qualifications
Five or more years of editing experience.
Strong technical editing skills across content, structure, formatting, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and terminology.
Experience preparing, formatting, and generating technical reports.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and minimum California car insurance.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift items in indoor and outdoor work environments.
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
WAGE DETERMINATION ALIGNMENT
Per Wage Determination No. 2015-5603, Revision No. 30, this role aligns with Technical Writer II responsibilities. The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations.
