Provide medical care and treatment to acute and chronic pulmonary care patients in hospital and outpatient settings. Assess patients, perform medical tests and procedures, prescribe medicine and conduct follow-ups with patients. Duties also include teaching medical students and residents. Teaching is in a clinical setting, rather than teaching specific courses. Requires M.D., D.O, or foreign equivalent; completion of residency in Internal Medicine; fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine; and eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Alabama.
