Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place!
E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.
We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.
E-Space (espace Inc.) is a startup working toward democratizing space with a new low earth orbit (LEO)-based mesh network, reaching over one hundred thousand multi-application communication satellites, to help businesses and governments securely and affordably access the power of space—in real-time—to solve problems on Earth.
As we grow, we are looking to hire an IP and Contract Attorney to help with (a) patent filings and transactional matters, with preference for electrical engineering and space-based applications, and (b) assist us with commercial contracts, including non-disclosure agreements and a working knowledge of export control regulations.
Experience with patent law and admission to the U.S. patent bar is required. This is a full-time, permanent position, with significant opportunity for growth. 2-4 years of experience handling "hard IP" work is required; well-qualified individuals with less experience may be considered.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, organized, personable, able to work well in a team environment, and very importantly, be a knowledgeable and consummate professional with respect to both the law and to the English language used to deliver it to internal stakeholders and outside counsel. The IP and Contract Attorney will work closely with engineers to draft initial patent applications, and manage the bulk of the application work and engineering interface, engaging with outside counsel as necessary. The successful candidate will have experience with every aspect of patent drafting, filing, and process through award, as well as drafting and revising contracts, non-disclosure agreements.
E-Space (including its affiliates) has offices in Los Gatos, CA, Washington, DC, and Beverly, MA. The ideal candidate would be available to work in our Los Gatos, CA office all or most of the time.
