Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer / BI Engineer with 8 10+ years of expertise in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and Analytics. This role requires a hands-on professional who can design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise-scale reporting and analytics solutions while managing the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building data pipelines, developing actionable business insights, managing Power BI environments, creating Paginated Reports, automating processes through Power Automate, and leveraging Azure data services. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of reporting platforms while providing production support, troubleshooting complex issues, and redesigning solutions to meet evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models, and semantic datasets to support enterprise analytics initiatives.
• Build interactive dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and executive-level reporting solutions using Power BI.
• Develop and maintain Paginated Reports for operational, financial, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Manage and administer the Power BI environment, including workspaces, gateways, security, deployment pipelines, and governance standards.
• Optimize datasets, reports, dashboards, and DAX calculations to improve performance and user experience.
• Monitor and manage dataset refreshes, troubleshoot refresh failures, and ensure data accuracy and availability.
• Perform debugging, incident triage, root cause analysis, and production support for reporting and analytics platforms.
• Assess existing BI solutions and redesign architectures, data models, and reporting frameworks to improve scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Develop and support automated business processes and workflows using Power Automate.
• Integrate Power BI with Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective analytics solutions.
• Implement data governance, security controls, and Row-Level Security (RLS) to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
• Drive best practices in BI development, data modeling, report design, and performance optimization.
Required Qualifications:
• 8 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics.
• Expert-level knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Administration.
• Strong experience developing enterprise-scale datasets, semantic models, and reporting solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Paginated Reports (Power BI Report Builder / SSRS).
• Extensive experience with Power Automate and workflow automation.
• Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL, and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related Azure technologies.
• Proven ability to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues.
• Strong experience optimizing report performance, refreshing datasets, and query execution.
• Experience redesigning legacy reporting solutions and modernizing BI architecture.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and modern analytics platforms.
• Microsoft Power BI, Azure, or Fabric certifications.
• Experience implementing CI/CD and DevOps practices for Power BI deployments.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environment
