Our client, McGrath's Limestone (Cong) Limited, based in Cong, Co. Mayo, is currently seeking Welders for immediate start at their head office in Cong, Co. Mayo. Key Responsibilities Responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and repair work on quarry equipment and infrastructure Ensure that all machinery and structural components are maintained in safe, efficient working condition to support continuous quarry operations Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and cutting tasks on heavy equipment, including crushers, conveyors, hoppers, and haul trucks Inspect, diagnose, and repair structural damage, wear, and mechanical issues on quarry machinery Fabricate and modify metal components as needed to improve equipment performance and longevity Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals Maintain welding tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner Follow all safety procedures, including use of PPE and adherence to site regulations Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to prioritize repair work Document repairs, maintenance activities, and materials used Requirements: Candidate must be competent to perform all job duties listed above Strong experience in heavy equipment repair, preventative maintenance, and working in rugged industrial environments Technical training or certification in welding preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial or heavy equipment welding Experience working in mining, quarrying, or similar heavy industry preferred Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and fabrication methods Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and under pressure Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to workplace safety Annual remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour Work Location: McGrath's Limestone (Cong) Limited, Cregaree, Cong, Co.
