Job Description

The Account Manager drives business development and sales growth within an assigned territory focused on commercial real estate office buildings. This role combines field-based prospecting, relationship building with key decision-makers, and disciplined pipeline management through a CRM platform. The Account Manager serves as the primary face of the company in the local market, building a strong, credible brand while consistently achieving revenue and profitability targets.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily business development activities within the assigned territory, focusing on commercial real estate office buildings that align with the company’s market model.
  • Conduct building inspections on a regular basis to assess suitability, gather information, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Identify and document existing access control systems in target buildings to understand current solutions and potential needs.
  • Determine key building stakeholders, including asset managers, property managers, and chief building engineers, and maintain accurate contact information for each.
  • Identify the ownership structure and decision-making hierarchy for each target building or portfolio to support effective sales strategies.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a robust sales pipeline using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
  • Record and track all prospecting, meetings, and business development activities in the CRM to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline status, key opportunities, market feedback, and any developments related to new business pursuits.
  • Serve as the primary face of the company in the assigned market, representing the brand professionally and credibly in all interactions.
  • Actively engage with key industry organizations such as BOMA, IREM, and local chambers of commerce, including participating as a member and accepting leadership roles to maximize market presence and impact.
  • Generate new building and tenant sales in line with assigned sales quotas, meeting recurring monthly revenue and profitability targets.
  • Grow existing accounts by identifying expansion opportunities, cross-selling services, and strengthening long-term relationships.
  • Provide direct oversight and responsive customer service to assigned accounts, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and retention.
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with peers and leadership to share information, coordinate efforts, and support overall sales objectives.
Essential Skills
  • Proven sales experience, ideally in a field-based or territory-focused role.
  • Strong business development skills, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and closing opportunities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform to manage pipelines and track activities.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable method of transportation to support regular on-site client and building visits.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with property managers, asset managers, building engineers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging clients and reporting to leadership.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to handle a high volume of field visits, follow-ups, and CRM documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Relevant commercial real estate (CRE) experience, such as working with office buildings, property management, or related services, is highly beneficial.
  • A four-year degree in business, marketing, real estate, or a related field is preferred as an alternative or complement to CRE experience.
  • Familiarity with access control systems and building operations is an advantage.
  • Comfort engaging with professional associations such as BOMA, IREM, and local chambers of commerce.
  • Ability to represent the company effectively in industry groups and take on leadership roles within those organizations.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, typically working standard business hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role is highly field-oriented, with approximately 70% of the time spent on-site meeting clients and inspecting commercial office buildings, and the remaining time focused on administrative tasks, CRM updates, and internal communication. You regularly travel within your assigned territory using your own reliable transportation. The work involves professional office settings at client sites and a mix of in-person meetings, phone calls, and digital communication.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
