The Sales Manager – MICE role is responsible for driving strong relationships and revenue growth across Hilton Sydney’s key MICE clients, while also identifying and securing new opportunities. This includes working closely with Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs), event companies, incentive houses, and local inbound operators.

This position is responsible for the promotion and selling of the hotel's accommodation, conference, event and outlet spaces from initial enquiry to contracting. This will be achieved through sound lead acquisition, allocation, effective qualifying throughout the initial enquiry, delivery of comprehensive, accurate and customised proposals, and strong negotiation skills, whilst maintaining and supporting the customer relationship for the hotel. The position will consistently strive to develop strong relationships with new and existing clients, in order to increase overall revenue, drive lead generation, and support the Hilton Sydney as a market leader in groups, conference, and events.

The Sales Manager - MICE will maximise revenue opportunities in all areas of groups, conferencing and events by aiding with upsells and conversions, and further developing relationships and customer loyalty. This position is a key support for delivering heartfelt exceptional experiences to our guests and is responsible for the largest events held at the hotel.

What will you be doing?
As Sales Manager- MICE, you will be working within the Commercial team to seek new business opportunities, respond to enquiries, convert business, and maximise revenue. Each day will be different, with the following tasks being performed to the highest standards:

  • Seek opportunities to increase sales and conversions
  • Focus on a consistently executed up-selling approach
  • Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs
  • Arrange and carry out Hotel site inspections and entertaining
  • Ensure the complete administration and execution of all planned events
  • Participate in hotel promotional activities

A Sales Manager - MICE at Hilton Sydney is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Experience with events and exhibitions of 250 pax
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
  • Confident and professional telephone manner
  • High level of IT skills Delphi FDC preferred
  • Excellent grooming standards

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Demonstrated 2 years previous experience working in a Groups, Conference & Events Sales role
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems
