Back-end Engineer

- You are genuinely full-stack, with the center of gravity on the backend.
- Your workflow is AI-driven (Claude Code, Codex or Cursor) and you stay fast without getting sloppy.
- You have strong TypeScript experience in production. We use tRPC, Drizzle, and PostgreSQL. We don't use NestJS-style classes or decorators.
- You have solid systems judgment. APIs, data models, scraping reliability, and trade-offs matter to you.
- You've operated production AWS (we use ECS, S3, SQS) and can read CloudWatch under pressure.
- You've built or maintained scrapers at scale. Anti-bot pain, retries, and dedup are routine for you.
- You write clearly in async English. Slack, Loom, GitHub PRs. You communicate without meetings.
- You want ownership, not a narrow lane.
- You want a small early-stage company where the pace is high, the standards are high, and the founder is one Slack message away.

We are hiring a product engineer who can fully own projects and ship them.

This is a remote role. We work async-first with 2 to 4 hours of US EST overlap.

We are not splitting engineering into frontend and backend roles. You're a well-rounded builder who can move across the stack, make strong product and technical calls, ask for help when needed, and deliver features end to end. Most weeks you'll be deep in the backend, scraping pipelines, queues, and AWS. Some weeks you'll polish a React surface that customers touch every day. Both matter.

Strong backend and architecture judgment is the heart of this role. So is product taste. So is the ability to use AI as a force multiplier without lowering the bar.

Stealth Seller is the competitor intelligence platform for Amazon sellers.
The tools Amazon sellers actually use today (Helium10, Jungle Scout, Keepa) were built for product research, not competitor surveillance. If you want to know what your direct competitor just listed, restocked, or repriced, you're stuck stitching together browser tabs and spreadsheets. We're building the layer that should have existed five years ago.

If we do this right, sellers stop guessing what their competitors are doing and start running real intelligence on one platform.

We are profitable, small, and shipping daily. The team is one founder, with engineering shared between the founder and AI tooling. We're hiring our first dedicated engineer. If you like building tools for the operators who actually use them, that should matter to you.

- Anti-bot scraping stack experience: TLS fingerprinting, HTTP/2 emulation, hyper-sdk-js, node-tls-client, or custom HTTP clients over undici/axios.
- Stripe webhooks and billing flow scars (idempotency, retries, edge cases when payments and auth disagree).
- BullMQ at production scale: dedup, dead-letter queues, queue observability, recovering from poison messages.
- Prior work with Amazon product data, ASINs, Keepa, or similar marketplace intel.
- Structured or wide-event logging (Sentry, Pino, OpenTelemetry).
- You've shipped your own SaaS or indie product, even a small one.
