Position Title: Substitute Teacher Location: Vanlue Local Schools / Vanlue, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $100/Day About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to support classrooms when regular teachers are absent. This position helps ensure continuity of learning by implementing lesson plans, maintaining a structured classroom environment, and supporting students’ academic and social growth throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment Provide clear instruction and academic support to students during the school day Adapt to a variety of grade levels and subject areas as needed Take attendance and complete required documentation accurately Communicate professionally with school staff and administration Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent required Valid Ohio substitute teaching license or higher teaching license (per state regulations) Clean criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow lesson plans and adjust to different classroom environments Patience, professionalism, and a student-centered approach Compliance with the Ohio Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Educators Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or childcare Familiarity with classroom management strategies Experience working with diverse student populations What We Offer Flexible, as-needed scheduling Classroom experience across various grade levels Opportunities for long-term substitute assignments with increased compensation Potential pathways toward full-time teaching roles Access to optional basic medical benefits Enrollment in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS)
