Position Title: Substitute Teacher Location: L. Hollingworth School for the Talented & Gifted / Toledo, OH Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call Pay Rate: $110/Day Pay increase available for long-term substitute assignments based on consecutive days worked About the Role Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to support classrooms when regular teachers are absent. This role is essential in ensuring continuity of instruction by implementing lesson plans, maintaining a structured learning environment, and supporting both academic and social development for students. Key Responsibilities Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful classroom environment Provide clear instruction and support to students throughout the school day Adapt instruction and approach to various grade levels and subject areas Take attendance and complete required classroom documentation Communicate professionally with school staff and administrators Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent required Valid Ohio substitute teaching license or higher teaching license (per state requirements) Clean criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different classroom environments Patience, professionalism, and a student-centered approach Compliance with the Ohio Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Educators Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching, tutoring, or childcare experience Familiarity with classroom management strategies Experience working with diverse student populations What We Offer Flexible, as-needed scheduling Opportunities to gain classroom experience across grade levels Potential for long-term substitute assignments with increased compensation Pathways toward full-time teaching opportunities Access to optional basic medical benefits Enrollment in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS)
