Sub Acute Admissions Coordinator (Hospital Setting)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sub Acute Admissions Coordinator to join a fast-paced hospital environment. This role is responsible for managing the front-end admissions process, including patient intake, insurance verification, and authorization workflows to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage, including HMO, PPO, Medicare, and Medi-Cal, and determine eligibility
- Identify services requiring authorization and secure approvals for treatment, beds, and referrals
- Utilize EPIC to complete patient intake, update demographics, and manage pre-registration processes
- Handle claims, submit authorization requests, and attach referrals as needed
- Collect co-pays and educate patients on financial responsibility and shared costs
- Coordinate with case managers, physician offices, and other healthcare facilities
- Support multiple departments and remote locations as needed
- Provide professional, high-quality customer service to patients and internal staff
- Apply knowledge of medical terminology in daily workflow
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of healthcare experience in a hospital setting (required)
- Strong experience with insurance verification, authorizations, and patient intake
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage high-volume workflows and multitask effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using EPIC
- Background in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Sub Acute care
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus

This is a Contract position based out of San Pedro, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
