About the role
- Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate design strategy to engineers, PMs, and executives, and to align cross-functional stakeholders across a matrixed organization - 8–10+ years designing complex, data-heavy developer or infrastructure products - Deep familiarity with observability, monitoring, or incident management user workflows; ideally as a practitioner or through close collaboration with SRE/platform teams - Track record of shipping high-quality work at speed using iterative, prototype-driven processes - Strong systems thinking; ability to define data interaction patterns, behavioral models, and object relationships across a complex, multi-surface product - Demonstrated ability to design for AI-native surfaces: chat interfaces, agent workflows, context-aware UI, and explainability patterns - Experience managing and developing high-performing design teams in fast-moving, acquisition-stage or startup environments - Background as an SRE, developer, or platform engineer who has experienced incident response firsthand - Experience designing MCP-integrated or CLI-adjacent developer tools - Experience contributing code to the product - Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or observability platformsKey missions
