Key Responsibilities: • Responsibility for correct mud tank settings, mixing mud and mud additives, measurement of specific gravity and viscosity of mud, monitior and cleaning mud pumps and pits. • Trip in – lubricating threads and assisting with drill string assembly and removal of drill string. • Receipt, measurement and cleaning of casings, assisting with casing assembly. • Installation and arrangement of BOP‘s. • Assisting with cementing. • Reception and clearing up of drilling equipment (drill bits, stabilizers, jars, mud motors, MWD‘s etc). • Substitute for driller/assistant driller as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements: • Experience within geothermal drilling is preferred. Experience with Drillmec or Bentec rigs strongly preferred. Experince as Derrickman. 2 years minimum Assistant Driller experience highly preferred. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and initiative, fluency in English. Good experince operating powertools. • Valid driver's license. Icelandic forklift license (preferred). IWCF license, level 1-2 preferred. Forklift license for 10 tons + preferred. • Proactive approach to hazard identification and control. Ability to work effectively in remote and demanding environments. Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions. • Safety-conscious with a commitment to maintaining high safety standard.

Full time job – shift work; work arrangements vary depending on the project. Wages according to collective agreements with Framsýn workers union.
