Join NUVIA UK, a fast-growing company in the Technical Services & Consulting department. As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for delivering cost verification assurance activities and providing expert advice on commercial assurance strategy. You will work closely with project managers and suppliers to ensure effective implementation of cost verification responsibilities. The position is based in Bristol with hybrid travel requirements.
About the role
Principal Accountabilities
- Deliver Firewall 3 Cost Verification assurance activities where appropriate
- Support in the analysis of Cost Verification assurance findings – such that key themes and trends can be identified, lessons learnt, and effective action taken.
- Work with appropriate owners to provide appropriate guidance and education to Project Managers and Suppliers regarding their Firewall 1 and Firewall 2 responsibilities for Cost Verification such that they understand them and can carry them out effectively.
- Support the annual review of site Commercial Assurance Strategy, specifically the Cost Verification section as part of the Payment control point.
- Support the production of a rolling 12-month Cost Verification assurance schedule
- Support the analysis of Cost Verification findings to identify cross cutting trends and themes
- Provide expert advice into the how to address cross cutting trends and themes – leading as appropriate on the delivery of any actions
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working with most common Forms of Contract (NEC & FIDIC) used within the Nuclear Power construction industry and major projects
- Able to demonstrate a noteworthy track record as a Contract Manager, Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Chartered Accountant and/or Auditor.
- Effective commercial / contract management skills, with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies and ability to make sound decisions on matters of financial value.
- Understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management and change management.
- Good collaboration, influencing and communication skills
- Familiar with the nuclear site licence conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy.
- Problem solver who can understand wider strategic context and is prepared to take ownership and work autonomously to deliver requirements which meet these aims.
- Full membership of the RICS / ICAS or equivalent professional body educated to relevant degree level (commercial management and / or accounting) desirable.
