Job description The Lead Teacher oversees a small team of 1-5 teachers, guiding curriculum development with an emphasis on Montessori methodologies. This role combines leadership with hands-on curriculum design to foster an effective and nurturing learning environment. Responsibilities Implement and contribute to a play-based curriculum Lead and support a team of 1-5 teachers Ensure consistent application of teaching methodologies Provide mentorship and guidance to assistants and staff Collaborate on curriculum design and classroom strategies Preferred Qualifications Entry-level teaching experience Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) OR A Child Development Associate or other OCFS-recognized credential specific to Childhood Education AND two years of childcare experience; OR Nine (9) college credits in ECE AND a plan towards a degree Skills in classroom management and curriculum design Strong communication and leadership abilities Effective time management and adaptability
