Position Summary
The Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for children ages 1 3 years old. This role supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through hands-on learning experiences, positive guidance, and age-appropriate activities. The Toddler Teacher works collaboratively with families and fellow staff members to ensure each child receives quality care and early childhood education.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities for toddlers
Foster a warm, loving, and inclusive classroom environment
Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
Support children’s emotional development through positive guidance and redirection techniques
Encourage language development, social interaction, and independence skills
Maintain daily classroom routines including meals, diapering/toileting, naps, and transitions
Keep classroom clean, organized, and sanitized according to health and safety standards
Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s progress, behavior, and daily activities
Observe and document developmental milestones and concerns
Collaborate with administration and teaching team to maintain high-quality care and education standards
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and center policies
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
CDA, Associate Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
Previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting preferred
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Must pass all required background checks
