What they do

The Orchard is a digital music distribution platform founded in 2009 by David Macias that enables independent artists, labels, and rights holders to distribute their music to streaming services, digital retailers, and broadcasters worldwide. Acquired by Sony Music Entertainment in 2012, The Orchard operates as a key distribution arm within Sony's music ecosystem, combining independent artist focus with the resources of a major entertainment conglomerate. Headquartered in New York with international offices, the company serves thousands of creators globally, handling catalog management, rights administration, and revenue collection across all major digital platforms. The platform helps independent music creators compete at scale while maintaining direct relationships with their audience and intellectual property.
