Kalshi is a prediction market platform based in New York City that enables retail users to trade on the outcomes of real-world events, from elections and political decisions to sports competitions and economic data releases. Founded in 2021, the company operates in the prediction markets and financial technology sector as a privately held organization. The platform democratizes access to event-based trading that was historically available only through specialized channels or institutional traders. Kalshi has successfully obtained regulatory approval from US authorities to operate prediction markets, distinguishing it in a space that has faced historical regulatory challenges and restrictions. The company has raised venture funding to support product development, market expansion, and ongoing regulatory compliance as it builds out its trading platform and retail user base in the prediction markets sector.
