T.T Tran & V.L Tran & VL Tran Family 3 Wiebbe Hayes Lane Geraldton, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, 6530 Full Time Agricultural Technician $83,000 to $87,000 per annum Summary The Agricultural Technician supports the business's crop production activities through the monitoring, implementation, and optimisation of agricultural practices across open-field and greenhouse operations. The position assists with crop establishment, production monitoring, plant health management, production data collection, and technical farming support to help maximise crop quality, yield, and operational efficiency. Working closely with management and farm personnel, the Agricultural Technician contributes to the effective operation of large-scale vegetable production systems by supporting evidence-based farming practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance with workplace, environmental, and food production standards. Key Responsibilities • Conduct routine crop inspections and monitor plant growth, crop development, and production performance across open-field and greenhouse operations. • Collect, record, and analyse agricultural production data including crop growth rates, planting densities, yield outcomes, environmental conditions, and crop quality indicators. • Monitor crop health and identify signs of pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, environmental stress, or other production issues and report findings to management. • Assist in implementing crop establishment, planting, cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest activities in accordance with production plans and operational requirements. • Support the implementation of fertiliser, crop nutrition, and plant treatment programs by monitoring crop response and maintaining accurate application record. • Assist with integrated pest and disease management activities through field observations, crop monitoring, and implementation of approved treatment measures. • Conduct soil, water, and crop sampling activities and assist in the collection of technical information used for production analysis and decision-making. • Operate agricultural equipment, tools, sensors, monitoring devices, and production technologies used in crop management and farming operations. • Perform routine inspections of production areas and report operational issues that may affect crop performance, productivity, or product quality. • Prepare and maintain accurate records relating to crop production activities, field observations, agricultural inputs, harvest results, and compliance requirements. • Assist in agricultural trials, crop performance assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency and crop quality. • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental obligations, food safety standards, and business procedures. Required Skills • A qualification in a relevant field or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. • Experience in crop cultivation, monitoring, harvesting, and agricultural production activities. • Knowledge of plant health, pest and disease identification, and nutrient management. • Experience maintaining agricultural records and production data. • Ability to identify crop issues and support practical production improvements. • Experience operating agricultural equipment and production technologies. • Strong organisational, communication, and record-keeping skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Commitment to workplace health and safety, environmental, and food safety standards.
