Overview
Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking dependable, compassionate, and hardworking individuals to join our team as a Seasonal Maintenance & Household Assistant. This unique seasonal position provides support both within our Maintenance Department and our resident neighborhoods.
In this role, you will assist with basic maintenance tasks, campus upkeep, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and environmental services that enhance the daily lives of our residents. This is an excellent opportunity for students, seasonal workers, or individuals looking to gain experience in senior living while making a meaningful difference.

Responsibilities
Maintenance Assistant Duties
-
Assist the Maintenance team with general campus upkeep and improvement projects.

Support basic preventative maintenance activities under supervision.
-
Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.

Help maintain clean, safe, and attractive indoor and outdoor environments.

Perform painting, cleaning, and light repair tasks as assigned.
-
Remove litter and debris from campus grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and common areas.

Assist with seasonal projects such as landscaping, leaf removal, and outdoor maintenance.

Help maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas.
-
Respond to maintenance-related requests as directed.

Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Household Support Duties

Assist with housekeeping and laundry services.

Help prepare and serve meals and snacks.
-
Set dining tables and assist with meal service.
-
Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas, kitchens, and equipment.

Ensure laundry is completed and returned to residents.

Stock supplies and assist with inventory.

Record appliance and food temperatures as required.

Answer phones and respond to resident and staff requests.

Work collaboratively with team members to ensure resident needs are met.

Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, co-workers, and documentation.
General Responsibilities

Promote a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Follow all infection prevention and safety procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
-
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
-
Current high school students who meet legal working age requirements are encouraged to apply.
Experience
-
Previous maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, food service, landscaping, customer service, or related experience preferred.

Experience working with older adults is a plus.
-
No previous experience required; training will be provided.
Licensure
-
Valid driver's license preferred.
Skills
