Role Overview

We are seeking an Associate Vice President (AVP) to lead technology transformation engagements that help healthcare organizations successfully adopt and scale digital, AI, and enterprise technology solutions. This leader will bring a strategic, human-centered approach to transformation—ensuring that complex technology initiatives translate into meaningful behavior change, sustained adoption, and measurable outcomes.

Aligned with Jarrard’s Technology Transformation practice, this role sits at the intersection of strategic communications, organizational change, and technology enablement. The AVP will serve as a senior advisor to healthcare executives, helping organizations navigate large-scale system implementations, digital modernization, and innovation efforts by activating leadership, aligning stakeholders, and embedding change into the fabric of the organization.

This role requires both systems-level thinking and practical execution, with the ability to connect enterprise strategy to frontline adoption across clinical, operational, and administrative environments.

Responsibilities

Client Service

  • Serve as a senior lead for technology transformation engagements, including EHR/ERP implementations, digital transformation, AI enablement, and large-scale system rollouts

  • Partner with C-suite and executive leaders to translate technology strategies into clear, actionable change and communications plans

  • Design and execute end-to-end change strategies that drive adoption of new technologies, workflows, and operating models

  • Lead stakeholder analysis and segmentation, tailoring engagement approaches across clinicians, operators, IT, and leadership

  • Build and activate change networks to scale adoption and sustain transformation across complex health systems

  • Develop and lead strategic communications strategies that articulate the “why,” reinforce behavior change, and align diverse audiences

  • Integrate organizational design and operating model considerations into change strategies, particularly in provider environments

  • Apply data-driven methods (readiness assessments, adoption metrics, engagement analytics) to continuously improve outcomes

  • Act as a trusted advisor in high-stakes transformation efforts, navigating risk, resistance, and ambiguity

  • Bring strong program management discipline, ensuring delivery against timelines, budgets, and outcomes

Internal Client Team Management

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, on-time, and on-budget work

  • Mentor and develop junior team members in management, communications, and client leadership

  • Ensure consistent excellence in deliverables, including strategic plans, messaging platforms, engagement campaigns, and leadership tools

  • Be aware of team utilization and capacity opportunities by engaging with your direct reports and communicating with supervisors

  • Provide day-to-day team leadership while identifying opportunities for continuous growth

  • Monthly/weekly staff planning/tracking including timely communications to internal leaders

Business Development

  • Participate in and play a significant role in new business pitches including pitch strategy and proposal development

  • Identify new opportunities with existing clients for the firm to contribute additional value for a client, and work with practice leadership to bring those opportunities to fruition

  • Look for ways to leverage networks for visibility of the firm and its service offerings

  • Ensure clients are aware of our full set of high-value services where appropriate, for new opportunities for growth

  • Participate in and contribute ideas for firm thought leadership activities

Firm Management

  • Model and teach best practices in client management

  • Actively participate in appropriate firm management meetings and/or discussions

  • Accomplish billable goals and help ensure your direct reports do as well

  • Contribute ideas for Jarrard Academy based on growth and development needs of your team

People Development

  • Demonstrate and nurture Jarrard Vision, Mission and Values

  • Mentor the colleagues who report to you, guide career development using our talent development platform as the foundation

  • Ensure teams are adept at all firm high-value services

  • Actively help agency recruit and retain the best people

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8-10+ years of experience in technology transformation, change management, or strategic communications, ideally within healthcare

  • Experience supporting technology/system implementations (e.g., EHR, ERP, digital platforms, AI tools)

  • Strong critical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous environments

  • Demonstrated expertise in: stakeholder analysis and engagement, change strategy and planning, and building and activating change networks

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex programs with strong project/program management rigor

  • Deep understanding of healthcare organizational structures, especially in provider environments

  • Experience working across the healthcare ecosystem (providers, payers, tech partners) preferred

  • Exceptional strategic communication skills, including executive messaging and large-scale engagement campaigns

  • Ability to activate leadership, influence behavior, and drive adoption across cultural, regional, and technological dimensions

  • Strong balance of systems thinking and practical execution

  • Experience in learning and development, including applying principles of how adults learn to design effective change and communication strategies

  • Ability to work remotely, office options in Chicago, IL and Nashville, TN

Salary range: $125,000-$145,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
