We are seeking an experienced Protection & Control Specialist to provide expert-level support for protection and control systems within transmission, distribution, substation, and power infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of electrical power networks while supporting engineering, commissioning, and operational activities.
Responsibilities
Design and review protection and control schemes for transmission and distribution systems Configure and validate protection relay settings Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities Support commissioning, energization, and troubleshooting activities Review engineering packages, technical specifications, and design documentation Perform fault analysis, protection coordination studies, and system assessments Ensure compliance with industry standards, utility requirements, and project specifications Collaborate with engineering, commissioning, construction, and operations teams Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers Support project delivery throughout design, testing, commissioning, and handover phases
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline Minimum 10 years of experience within protection and control engineering Experience within utility, transmission, substation, or power infrastructure environments Strong knowledge of protection principles, power systems, and network analysis Experience with ABB Relion, Siemens SIPROTEC, GE Multilin, Schneider Electric, SEL, or similar relay platforms Experience with IEC 61850, substation automation, SCADA, and communication protocols Experience performing fault studies and protection coordination studies Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills Fluent English, both written and spoken
